19th-century ‘ladies’
Lectures & Talks
In 19th-century Australia, a ‘lady’s’ social status was influenced by landed wealth and women were moulded into dutiful wives, mothers and daughters with the help of popular literature. Within the time capsule rooms of Rouse Hill House, trace the lifestyles and tastes of three generations of Rouse women through the 1800s.
